Ríos de agua viva flow in Coyoacán

It only took about 20 minutes and a dozen twists and turns of the road to meet up with new friends as well as missionary colleagues at Centro Familiar Cristiano in Coyoacán.

Even through life's greatest challenges, Pastors Cristobal and Lourdes serve with grace and dignity as they extend the Lord's blessings to all.

Proud mom in the middle dedicated her daughter to the Lord at the beginning of service. Lead her well, hermana! Young Luna looks ready to take on the world.

The hermanas of the congregation served communion after the preaching. No meager thimble-sized containers allowed to represent the cup of the new covenant here :)

At lunch, Stuart made a new friend who wanted to learn some English and have a little fun.

Another new friend shares his pastor-parents joy and dedication to the Lord.

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." John 7:37-38

En el último día, el más solemne de la fiesta, Jesús se puso de pie y exclamó: ¡Si alguno tiene sed, que venga a mí y beba! De aquel que cree en mí, como dice la Escritura, brotarán ríos de agua viva. Juan 7:37-38

Not your typical fall festival

Mexico City in the fall may not offer apple or pumpkin festivals, but fortunately for us we get the next best thing. Just recently, our great city hosted a Café and Chocolate Fest in nearby Coyoacán.

Vendors eagerly shared their expertise concerning the production of the cacao bean and its many delectable uses. Likewise, everyone wanted us to sample their treats and take their product home.

Who could refuse such a tempting offer?

Contented taste testers and delighted participants left a fitting tribute in the form of a chocolate handprint.

Te Queremos México

We've been relishing the opportunity to pack up our house once again in preparation for our move back to the States next month (that was sarcasm, by the way). But before we pack up all our memories, here's a few worth sharing from this past month.

Stuart preached at Asamblea Cristiana.

We spent the day with a friend from church who asked us to be a part of his music video (no worries - he is singing, we are not). The video follows the life of a young business man who is having a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day. From what I understand, it ends well though :)
I will link the video when it is completed.

Our time is limited so we've been visiting favorite sites in Mexico City.

Old Coyoacan offers a pleasant walk in the park, an artisan market, Café el Jarocho, and crunchy churros.

Stuart and Sophia visited Chinatown in Mexico City recently.
Can you see their reflection in the restaurant window?

They brought me home some fragrant soap and Chinese tea.

The Bojenmi Chinese Tea claims that "This tea will make women feel young and slim and full of youthpul beauty. It also rids you of bad breath and erosion of the lip and tongue."
I didn't care for it :)

Yesterday we enjoyed worship in a nearby park with our church family.
Within the next few days, I'll share more photos and videos of our time at Bosque de Tlapan.
